Here's how to adjust plastic windows in a few minutes so they don't burst.

How to adjust uPVC windows in minutes so they don't blow in:
Before the cold season, I managed to insulate my balcony, and now it's a great place to relax or work. However, in windy weather, cold air still gets in through the insulated uPVC windows.

I deliberately moved my hand close to the window and felt a strong stream of cool air that barely passed through. This can happen even with new windows, as they also need to be adjusted.

In this article, I will show you how to adjust plastic windows so that there is no draft or side wind in the house.

You can check the tightness of the window with a lighter. If the flame goes out, the tightness needs to be adjusted. (Browse the gallery.)

You will feel the cold coming in through the window.
The flame will blow cold air out through the window.

Everything is very simple and can be done in just a few minutes without the help of a professional. All you need for adjustment is a 4 mm Allen key.
Eccentrics for window adjustment.

Each uPVC window has three special eccentrics. These are adjusted with an Allen key and can be set for summer or winter use depending on the season. By turning the eccentric, the pressure of the window sash on the frame changes - now in more detail. To prevent the window from flying away, adjust the eccentric so that it points mostly towards the center of the house. This presses the seals tightly against the window frame, preventing cold air from entering. For clarity, I have shown in the picture the location of the eccentric on the inside of the window, depending on whether the window is set for summer or winter use.

Window adjustment.
Once the lower eccentric has been adjusted, we move on to the other two eccentrics to ensure even pressure around the entire perimeter of the window.
Then we compensate for any remaining eccentricities.
It is also worth checking the condition of the seals, as they lose their effectiveness over time and should be replaced if necessary.
The window is now draught-free, which is visible as a flat flame.
As a result, such a simple adjustment will help solve the problem of window drafts, the house will become warmer, and there will be no snow on the windowsill in winter.
