When you squeeze lemons, don't make the mistake of throwing away the seeds.

If you usually throw away lemon seeds, now is the time to start saving them and find out what you can do with them.

How to Use Lemon Seeds
Lemons are a citrus fruit that is highly valued for their unique flavor and versatility, both in cooking and in household chores. As a valuable source of vitamin C, their natural acidity also makes them beneficial for digestion and helps reduce bloating. Their widespread distribution in the Mediterranean region originates from Asian countries, from where they were introduced through trade.

It is widely used in cooking to flavor dishes, to make sauces, but also for desserts, where the peel is mainly used. In addition to lemon seeds, the peel is also an ever-present ingredient in homes. And if we usually use lemon juice, pulp and peel, why should we throw away the seeds? Here are some ways to get the most out of it.

Once you have used the lemon, set the seeds aside and rinse them thoroughly in room temperature water using a strainer. Then place them on paper towels and dry well. Then take the tweezers and start peeling the seeds by removing the skin that covers them.

Then take a small container, such as a yogurt jar, and fill it with a damp cotton ball. Place the seed in the cotton ball and let it sit for at least a week. After about 7 days, a small sprout will have emerged from the seed.

Keep the cotton ball and the environment moist so that the small seedling grows further until it has developed small roots. At this point, you need to plant the seed in a small pot, to which you need to add a mixture of soil and perlite to make sure the soil is well drained. After planting, the sprout will still need care. It should be kept in a well-lit, warm place, away from drafts. Make sure the soil is always moist, and wait for nature to do its job and grow a lemon tree that, when it grows, will give you juicy fruits.

Make a perfume

Lemon seeds are not only used to grow new plants. They can also be used to make a perfume maker for drawers and cabinets. The primary method still requires rinsing the seeds, but there is no need to remove the peel. Despite the washing, citrus seeds retain their natural scent for a long time.

You can then put them in a small cloth bag and use them to scent drawers, cabinets or rooms such as the bathroom. In winter, when attached to a radiator, they spread a delicious lemon scent. You just have to try to choose the best way to take advantage of the seeds of this citrus fruit, which has many properties.
