In the dim light, it was difficult to distinguish exactly what they were, but their unusual appearance aroused both curiosity and unease. For a few moments, I stood there motionless, trying to understand what I was seeing. The objects were small, smooth, and carefully arranged, but they didn’t resemble anything familiar.
