17-year-old teenager drowned in a river in Argeș
The tragedy occurred this afternoon. Rescuers from the Argeş Emergency Situations Inspectorate intervened in the Bârla commune, Brabeţi village, after a person was reported missing in the waters of a river.
After careful checks, the victim was identified as a 17-year-old teenager, who was most likely swimming on a hot day. He was pulled out of the water, but he was already in cardio-respiratory arrest and could not be saved, despite resuscitation maneuvers.
Authorities advise those who want to go swimming to choose only specially designed and supervised areas. Also, people who do not know how to swim or who are not accompanied are urged to avoid entering the water, especially in places with unknown depth, strong currents or in undeveloped areas.
